In the Wining Giovani project (www.wining-giovani.it), young people under 25 were guided through a journey of wine discovery involving social interactions, an olfactory contest, winery visits, tastings, and snacks. A tour that included stops at Tenimenti Leone, Tenuta Le Quinte, Castello di Torre in Pietra, Colle di Maggio, as well as the Vinòforum Wine Theater. Recently, the event “Wine vs. Spirits,” organized at the Gusta restaurant in Rome during Rome Future Week, was added to the itinerary.
The participants learned to work on their sense of smell and taste, but then we thought: there are five senses, and wine can undoubtedly stimulate all of them.
The idea took shape when we met Silvana Lulli of Parvus Ager. What could be better than a nighttime vineyard visit? A truly unique experience at the foot of the Castelli Romani, in the Appian Way Park, featuring music and storytelling via headphones, along with a one-hour walk through the rows of vines in an atmosphere brought to life by light shows, sounds, and images.
It all began with an aperitif. A small celebration to mark the end of the project, followed by a walk along a stretch of the Appian Way with comfortable shoes. Then came a tasting session to honor the unique character of Parvus Ager’s wines, and finally, the pleasure of seeing wine take center stage in an event that successfully brought together young and old in a setting that, forgive my bias, few can boast of having.
