There is a place in Turin that perhaps more than any other tells the story of the city’s ability to reinvent itself without losing touch with its past. It is Pista 500 at Lingotto, the former Fiat test track that has become one of the city’s most fascinating urban spaces. On June 24, the Roero wine region will take center stage here with an event designed to bring together wine, conviviality and contemporary culture.
On the occasion of Saint John’s Day, the patron saint of Turin, the Consorzio Tutela Roero will bring the first Roero Wine Fest to the heart of the city, a large-scale tasting event featuring 45 wineries and more than 110 wines representing the region’s denominations.
The initiative was conceived to showcase Roero through new forms of engagement, capable of connecting with an audience increasingly interested in the broader experience surrounding wine. Alongside tastings, visitors will enjoy street food, live music and moments of social interaction in a venue offering sweeping views over Turin’s rooftops. As night falls, guests will also have a privileged vantage point from which to enjoy the traditional Saint John’s fireworks display.
“With the Roero Wine Fest, we want to create new opportunities for wine lovers and consumers to connect with our wines through a more contemporary and inclusive language,” explains Massimo Damonte, President of the Consorzio Tutela Roero. “Younger generations are looking for authentic experiences to live and share. That is why we envisioned an event that combines the quality of our appellations with music, conviviality and social interaction, while always keeping wine at the heart of the story.”
The tasting route will be organized into several thematic areas designed to guide visitors through the many expressions of Roero, a territory that has strengthened its wine identity in recent years through the promotion of varieties such as Arneis and Nebbiolo, alongside a growing commitment to telling the story of its landscapes and communities.
More than a simple tasting event, the Roero Wine Fest aims to create a direct dialogue between producers and consumers, bringing wine beyond its traditional settings and into one of Turin’s most cherished celebrations. It is a different way to discover a denomination that continues to grow while choosing to tell its story where history, innovation and urban life come together.
