I confess that I hadn’t been to Via di Torre Clementina, in Fiumicino, for quite some time. My idea of the place was stuck several years in the past, and my memory recalled a context far less lively and fashionable than what I actually found yesterday during the first edition of “La Via del Gusto”.
A truly well‑executed event. A territory which, by creating synergy between entrepreneurs and institutions, has made this part of the Roman coastline very interesting, with an extremely diverse offering.
Art, culture, food, and wine all at once, with pairings between restaurateurs and wine producers that—I’d say—worked remarkably well. Then, speaking with Councillor Raffaello Biselli and with two of the minds behind this initiative—Giancarlo Consiglio from Cielo and Marco Tosti from Follis—I realized that, as often happens, the best ideas are born from that touch of madness, vision, and enthusiasm that characterizes us Italians.
There was talk about the event, but also about the importance of the role of Lazio’s restaurateurs in promoting wines from their own territory.
The overall direction of the event, curated by Bortolan Carnevali & Partners, was excellent.
