It was a landmark for Rome’s Ostiense district and it will be again, considering that Marco Andreotti’s determination prevailed over the setbacks that struck the pastry shop during the Christmas season.
A fire at the height of the busiest time of year is certainly not easy to overcome, but the desire for continuity proved stronger than the idea of closing for good.
Seeing Marco today, with a smile on his face and a shop full of people happy about the reopening, was a real pleasure. But it could not have been otherwise. It’s not just me saying so — during the interview, the number of people who stopped by to celebrate Marco and this reopening was truly remarkable.
A historic venue. An approach to pastry-making rooted in hard work, passion, quality ingredients and creativity. A dedication rewarded by a loyal, long-standing clientele.
Andreotti reopens, and I had to be there, celebrating with a breakfast that saw me “break the rules” with a sumptuous maritozzo filled with whipped cream…
