Dear Giovanni,
this is not the first article I have written about you and Le Caniette.
Someone might think there is some sort of personal interest behind it, but no — I write simply as a recognition of the quality of your wines, your winery, your territory and your way of doing things (and that’s enough, otherwise I’ll start sounding excessive).
Of course, you tell me that your family has been in Ripatransone, in the Piceno area, since 1897, and realizing that — despite my own roots in the Marche — I am only discovering your winery now is a bit annoying.
I first got to know you through your Cinabro, that “Bordò” which still cannot officially be called Bordeaux because of an endless series of bureaucratic details. But here I find you again, in a location that is nothing short of beautiful, with a cellar that is just as beautiful and welcoming, and with other wines and labels, often each carrying a story or a personal connection behind them.
Still, I am writing this article with one particular thought in mind: if you look closely at the video, behind you there is a wall covered with signatures. I forgot to add mine, and that simply won’t do.
I will have to come back — perhaps bringing friends and family along to share this wonderful experience 🙂
In the meantime, please go on telling the story of Le Caniette to those who have not yet had the chance to discover you…
