Torbageddon, the Second Edition in Rome for Whisky Lovers

The second edition of Torbageddon returns to Rome on Sunday, November 17, 2024. This edition is packed with exciting new features, starting with five high-level masterclasses.

The masterclasses include an exclusive pre-opening by Springbank, featuring a fascinating sequence of five batches of the 12-year-old full-proof whisky. Another masterclass showcases five expressions of peated whiskies from the Rinaldi distribution, and the final, no less significant, masterclass presents a Laphroaig vertical hosted by Stock Italia, the Italian importer, featuring two aged rarities of 30 and 33 years.

Velier will be the main sponsor of the 2024 edition. In addition to offering bottles for tasting from its portfolio, it will host two masterclasses: one on the Japanese whisky giant Nikka and another on the Highland Park distillery from the Orkney Islands.

The tasting table will feature over 200 primarily peated whiskies from around the world (another new addition this year is an increase in available labels). It will open at 2:00 PM and close at 10:00 PM, with tastings available via tokens for 2 cl portions.

The Torbageddon event, aimed primarily at enthusiasts of so-called peated whiskies, is part of the initiatives by Spirits Lab, a group represented by Igor and Diego Malaspina of Whisky Italy, Matteo Cervini from the White Rabbit bar, Arnaldo Maggiora Vergano and Lorenzo Giovannetti from the YouTube channel and association Non Solo Whisky, and finally, Pino Perrone, wine and spirits writer and former organizer of the Rome Whisky Festival.

This 2024 edition also introduces a new location, easily accessible for those arriving from outside Rome or using public transport.
