The Italy of Pinot Noir in Rome, October 27–28.

Known for its complexity and delicacy, Pinot Noir is considered the world’s most prestigious red grape variety, and Rome is preparing to celebrate this ancient varietal. “L’Italia del Pinot Nero” will take place at the Belstay Hotel (Via Bogliasco 27, 00165 Rome) on October 27 and 28, 2024.

The event, organized by the news outlet Vinodabere.it — which in recent months also published the Guide to the Best Italian Pinot Noir 2024 — will unfold over two days featuring around 40 producers. They will present their wines (not only Pinot Noir) to industry professionals (restaurateurs, wine shop owners, agents, etc.), journalists, wine lovers, enthusiasts, and sommeliers.

The event opens on Sunday, October 27 at 10:30 a.m. with a technical tasting — with some seats reserved for the press and industry professionals — titled “A tour of Italy through Pinot Noir,” led by Vinodabere journalists Antonio Paolini and Maurizio Valeriani, along with food and wine critic Dario Cappelloni (DoctorWine).

In the afternoon, the tasting stations will open for press, operators, and sommeliers (from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.), and then from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. they will be open to the general public.
On Monday, October 28, the event continues from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with another full day of tastings dedicated to Pinot Noir and other wines the producers will bring.
