On Sunday, December 3rd, the must-attend event in Rome is the 12th edition of Life of Wine, a unique tasting event dedicated to long-aging wines from important Italian wineries.
As in previous years, the event will take place in the beautiful spaces of Hotel Villa Pamphili, where wineries from all over Italy will arrive bringing older vintages that are often hard to find.
The format remains unchanged: each winery at its tasting table will present at least one label with at least two older vintages in addition to the current release. This will give lucky participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in numerous and fascinating micro-vertical tastings and to experience in the glass the evolution of some of Italy’s great wines. In addition, visitors will also be able to taste other wines currently on the market and thus gain a complete overview of each winery’s production.
Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase some labels, with prices displayed at each winery’s table.
From 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., entry will be reserved for registered sommeliers (entrance fee €25), press and industry professionals. The latter may request accreditation, which will be valid only once confirmed by email by the organizers.
From 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the event will also be open to the public.
The entrance ticket will cost €35 and will allow tasting of all the wines presented.
Life of Wine is an event conceived by Studio Umami (www.studioumami.com) and Roberta Perna Comunicazione Enogastronomica (www.robertaperna.com), Florence-based agencies specialized in communication and the organization of food and wine events. Since 2019 they have also collaborated with journalist Maurizio Valeriani, director of the publication Vinodabere (www.vinodabere.it), who contributes to strengthening the selection of wineries.
The numbers recorded over the years testify to the exponential growth of the event in terms of participation and audience quality: the last edition featured 73 wineries from all over Italy and 750 attendees, including 300 industry professionals and more than 100 members of the specialized press.
