Between Wine, Music and Images: Tony Sasa Shares the “Sensory Experience” of His World

In today’s wine landscape, Tony Sasa stands out for his unique approach. To describe him merely as a selector and ambassador of fine Italian wines would be limiting: his true hallmark lies in the ability to transform bottles, territories, and stories into authentic experiences to be lived.

His career, which began in the 1990s, is marked by prestigious collaborations and significant recognition. Over the years, he has built a solid bridge between Italian excellence and international markets, bringing the identity of our territories to more than fifty countries and working alongside renowned estates such as Il Palagio of Trudie Styler and Sting. In 2024, he was awarded the honor of Cavaliere al Merito del Lavoro, a fitting acknowledgment of a journey that combines expertise and passion.

Alongside his work in consultancy and distribution, Sasa has created innovative formats to tell the story of wine in a different way. With the Sound of Wine project, developed with percussionist Trilok Gurtu, the world of wine embraces a multisensory language: musical notes intertwine with tasting notes, giving voice to the rhythm of nature and the breath of Italy’s wine villages. No longer just tastings, but performances that merge art, culture, and conviviality.

In the video interview we present here, Tony speaks openly and without filters: he shares his perspective on the challenges of export, the need to renew the language of wine, and the importance of engaging new generations. It is a journey that invites us to look beyond the label, where wine becomes emotion, storytelling, and shared identity.
