Is there such a thing as a “Wine Democracy”? Apparently, yes. And what is it based on? Qua.le is Alessandra Quarta’s idea of democratic wine. A wine with a barcode that links you to the website , where you can choose where to allocate 5% of the price of the bottle you purchase.
A product that is 100% Italian—from the use of native grape varieties to the lightweight glass bottle, all the way to eco-compatible materials.
Finally, something “different” in the wine world—outside the usual schemes, with a clear idea behind it, supported by a well-defined graphic and marketing project. There are also six “articles” that define this Wine Democracy:
ART. 1 Everyone has the right to belong and deserves to drink well, for a long time and in a healthy way.
ART. 2 The quality of wine is strictly and inseparably linked to the quality of life.
ART. 3 Everyone has the right to a great Italian wine at the right price.
ART. 4 Only eco-compatible materials are used, allowing for proper disposal and reuse.
ART. 5 All citizens commit to preserving the Earth and all living beings that inhabit it.
ART. 6 All citizens do good for humanity every time they drink a good glass of red.
And yes—I can also say that I drank it chilled, and it goes down beautifully.
