“Nostrano”, a name taken out of the drawer by Chef Stefano Ciotti after several years, when he brought his restaurant to life.
When talking about a Michelin-starred restaurant, one usually thinks about aesthetics, if only because the internet is full of beautiful photos. At “Nostrano” the eye certainly has its share, but attention inevitably shifts to flavors. Truly local flavors, and I can say that with confidence since my mother is from the Marche.
Each dish has several ingredients, and all of them play a leading role. Every dish appears simple, but it is not, as it always shows that touch of creativity that completes it and makes me want to try recreating it at home.
I do not want to list what I ate. I just want to say that I had fun, that my curiosity was fully satisfied, and that I found nothing out of place. No notes “to be revised” on any of the dishes, just as perfect was the balance between formality and informality of the dining room staff.
Last but not least, Stefano himself, a perfect host, welcoming and reassuring. But above all, talented.
My verdict? I would go back. More than once 🙂
