Varramista, a Stargate that takes you on a journey between an 1800s Manzoni and Piaggio’s 1950s.

Varramista is a place that always makes you want to return. Their entrance gate is a sort of Stargate, beyond which you are greeted by a woodland, a wonderful garden, and a villa that exudes history from every stone.

We are welcomed by Francesca Frediani, a true “toscanaccia,” the kind of Tuscan woman who instantly makes you want to come back here again. Always available, ready to guide you with warmth and professionalism.

Entering the villa is an emotional experience. A frescoed hall with a vintage Vespa displayed at its center. After all, the estate’s connection with Piaggio is very strong, as it was the residence of Giovannino Agnelli in the 1990s. But it’s the stories that fascinate you — the ones Francesca tells us in the video.

Varramista means culture, wine tourism, and, of course, wine. All international‑style reds: Varramista, Frasca, Monsonaccio, and Sterpato, with oenologist Federico Staderini lending remarkable prestige to their production.

We are just a stone’s throw from Pontedera, and taking a detour to visit Varramista is a recommendation I truly feel like giving you…
