Umbria brings the best of its olive oil production to the United Arab Emirates with two exclusive events scheduled in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, in celebration of Italy’s Republic Day.
The initiative, promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Umbria in collaboration with Aprol Umbria, Assoprol Umbria, and the Accademia Maestro d’Olio, aims to enhance the international presence of Umbrian extra virgin olive oil and strengthen its positioning in a strategic and fast-growing market like the Emirates.
The first event will take place on Sunday, June 1 in Dubai, at Cucina – The Palm, inside the Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah. The evening will feature a gourmet tasting experience designed by chefs Marco Deriu and Emanuele Rizzo, with expert guidance from Fausto Borella, founder of the Accademia Maestro d’Olio.
The second stop will be on Monday, June 2 in Abu Dhabi, where Umbrian EVOO will be the star of a signature dinner at the Michelin-starred Talea by Antonio Guida. The day will conclude with official Republic Day celebrations in the prestigious Ball Room of the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.
These two events offer a prime opportunity to promote a product that perfectly blends high production standards, deep-rooted tradition, and environmental sustainability.
Umbrian extra virgin olive oil is increasingly appreciated worldwide for its intense and unmistakable sensory profile. Produced from native olive varieties such as Moraiolo, Frantoio, Leccino, San Felice, Rajo, and Dolce Agogia, it falls under the Umbria PDO designation—an emblem of certified quality, traceability, and environmental respect.
“With this initiative,” says Giorgio Mencaroni, President of the Umbria Chamber of Commerce, “we aim to support Umbrian companies in their journey toward internationalization, boosting the visibility of Umbrian EVOO in a market full of opportunity like the UAE.”
Six selected Umbrian producers will represent the region’s excellence in a series of guided tastings, training sessions, and exclusive dinners with chefs. These activities are designed to open new business opportunities in a region showing growing interest in premium Italian agri-food products.
