OlivitalyMed: Masterclasses, Meetings, and Insights into the World of EVOO – A Three-Day Journey into the Present and Future of the Sector
Over 75 producers come together for a journey through the finest olive groves of the Mediterranean. Also attending are emblematic communities from Croatia, Greece, Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. Special focus will be given to the pizza-EVOO pairing in collaboration with the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana.
Following the success of its first edition, the historic setting of Rocca Cilento Castle is ready to once again welcome producers, enthusiasts, industry professionals, and all the key players in the world of extra virgin olive oil from Saturday, April 26 to Monday, April 28. Born from the vision and passion of architect Stefano Sgueglia, OlivitalyMed will host over 75 producers to showcase the many facets of a heritage with millennia of history and over 500 cultivars.
“With this second edition, we continue our mission,” explains the Sgueglia family, organizers of the event, “to promote the finest EVOO productions of our country right here in Cilento – the cradle of the Mediterranean diet, which is not just a dietary model but a way of thinking and living. At OlivitalyMed, producers, enthusiasts, and experts come together to celebrate extra virgin olive oil, a staple of our tables both for its nutritional value and its cultural and civilizational roots. The event merges history, science, and business, delving into key themes such as olive oil tourism, food pairings, and EVOO as a driver of local development.”
It’s a concrete commitment to promoting not only Cilento and the Campania region but also other significant olive-growing areas of Italy. Notably, the regions of Basilicata and Calabria will be present—the latter featuring its regional olive oil library and the IGP Calabria Consortium with 20 represented labels. The event also looks beyond national borders with the participation of emblematic communities: two from Croatia and one each from Greece, Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. Their presence highlights the dual spirit of the event: an international outlook and a deep focus on the most vocated territories, reinforcing the rapid success of OlivitalyMed, which since its inception has become a strategic meeting place for stakeholders and industry players.
All this unfolds in the stunning setting of Rocca Cilento Castle, nestled in the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, with the sea as a backdrop. It’s the perfect venue to tell the story of one of the most iconic products of our culture—a product with a glorious past and, despite many challenges, a future full of promise. And it is precisely the theme of prospects that will be central at OlivitalyMed, alongside a strong focus on health, its connection to the world of pizza, and its role as a catalyst for regional development.
The event’s institutional partner is the Department of Agriculture of the Campania Region. Thanks to the collaboration with Scabec Spa, OlivitalyMed 2025 is again included in the Campania Artecard circuit. The event is sponsored by: the Province of Salerno, the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, the Municipality of Lustra, the National Association of Olive Oil Cities, Slow Food Campania, and supported by major trade associations including Coldiretti, Confagricoltura, Copagri, Cia, ANFO (National Association of Olive Oil Mills), and Oleum (International Professional Association of Olive Oil Tasters).
