For about twenty years, around this time, we would start thinking about Vinòforum. This year, not thinking about it will be even harder, considering that the event will take place at the Circus Maximus.
For us Romans, the Circus Maximus means a major event. It means a Vasco Rossi concert, or Guns N’ Roses, or David Gilmour… Imagining the Circus Maximus as the setting for a food and wine event, I admit, still feels difficult.
It is truly a major leap forward: from a local event to a (inevitably) national one and, very likely, destined to attract the attention of international tourism, which currently sees Rome literally flooded with visitors from all over the world. Big numbers are expected for the upcoming edition.
We share with Emiliano De Venuti, the event’s organizer, some reflections and—last but not least—the emotions, butterflies in the stomach included, that an event of this scale stirs in those living through its anticipation…
