Attending a masterclass with Pino Perrone is an experience I recommend to everyone. I enjoy the stories and the culture that surround a product, and in Whisky these two elements are never lacking.
Pino could go on for hours, and from the way he speaks you can tell that he truly could talk for hours about any topic. With him, a tasting becomes a deep dive into culture, knowledge, curiosity, and things you will in turn be eager to share with friends at the first opportunity.
Pino’s passion was born from a book. Then came the importance of communication, of best practices to adopt – first and foremost choosing the right glass – and, not least, an aware and mindful approach to what remains a product to be enjoyed intelligently.
And then the Whisky in the glass. This evening, four small yet intense journeys took us across Scotland. Four journeys for four different styles, with four different stories, and four emotions I can’t wait to experience again.
