PlonerHof and the evolution of its wines

We are at Life of Wine, a demanding edition due to the many restrictions caused by Covid, yet a successful one—marked not only by great attention to safety, but also by a highly engaging theme: the aging potential of wine.

Here we are with Maurizio Valeriani of Vinodabere.it and Erhart Tutzer of the PlonerHof winery.

PlonerHof is located in Marlengo, in a magnificent position just south of Merano. A terroir that allows Erhart, Herta, and Wolfgang to “play” beautifully with their wines. On several occasions I’ve had the chance to taste their Sauvignon Exclusiv 2018, a wine that was also awarded at the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon 2020. Savory, fresh, with a lovely bouquet of aromatic herbs, yet at the same time showing great presence.

Through a vertical tasting of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Exclusiv, Erhart confirms the ability of his wines to “stand the test of time” with remarkable ease—just as Daniele Moroni also describes in his article on Vinodabere.it.
