VitignoItalia 2024 is on its way, the event that turns Naples into the capital of Italian wine promotion. Three days, from June 2 to 4, to explore the labels, artisans, and wine territories that represent the most prestigious expressions of the country—highly anticipated both by wine enthusiasts and by industry professionals. This 18th edition is richer and more engaging than ever: not only tastings but also numerous in‑depth sessions where wine will interact with literature, culture, and science for a full‑circle journey into the world of wine. Contamination is the guiding theme of this new edition, which also inaugurates a new venue: the Maritime Station of Naples at Molo Angioino, one of the city’s most central hubs.

“The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. VitignoItalia is just around the corner,” explains Maurizio Teti, Director of VitignoItalia. “And once again this year, it positions itself as the great showcase of the best oenological expressions from across Italy. An edition more hybrid than ever, bringing producers, industry professionals, scholars, and communicators into dialogue through numerous sessions that will make it possible to explore every facet of Italian wine—highlighting not only the quality and diversity of denominations and terroirs, but also the cross‑connections that characterize our format.”

A journey through the tasting stands that promises to be truly immersive, thanks to the wide and functional spaces of the Maritime Station of Naples, as well as the important synergy with the Department of Agriculture of the Campania Region in the many scheduled events, and with Unicredit, a long‑standing partner of the event.

Big names but also big numbers: more than 1,500 labels from 300 wineries, with a strong presence of producers from Campania but also representing the most fascinating terroirs across Italy—from the whites of Trentino, Alto Adige, and Sicily, to sparkling wines, and all the way to the great reds of the Langhe, Tuscany, and Abruzzo, touching every corner of the Peninsula. Consortia will also be well represented, with the participation of Consorzio Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, Consorzio di Tutela Vini Roma DOC, Consorzio DOC Friuli, and major sector associations such as FEAMPA (European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund), completing the rich and varied oenological landscape—alongside the Regional Institute of Wine and Oil from Sicily.

The international focus is confirmed by the partnership with ICE, with the presence of 20 buyers from 18 countries—from Germany, Sweden, and Eastern Europe to Lebanon, and overseas in Canada and the United States. A group of highly respected industry professionals who will take part in the first two days of the event and then move on to discover one of Campania’s most renowned terroirs through an educational tour in the Phlegraean Fields.

It is precisely the combination of tastings and business‑oriented activities that has always characterized VitignoItalia as the flagship event for promoting Italian wine. This year, the event adds a rich calendar of cross‑disciplinary appointments: wine meets science in the in‑depth session “Wine and the Sea” exploring underwater wines; wine meets sensory experience with a blind tasting led by maestro Luca Boccoli; and wine meets literature with the presentation of guides and literary works in the Agorà. There will also be major masterclasses dedicated to discovering the regional oenological excellences of Sicily, Marche, and Campania—true highlights of the event. Among the new features of this edition, an evening focused on educating young enthusiasts on moderate and responsible consumption, with the VitignoItalia preview scheduled for Saturday, June 1.
